Allied Gold is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive SOX IT Analyst to join our IT department. The SOX IT Analyst will be responsible for supporting the organization's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program as it relates to IT systems, processes and controls. This position will work closely with IT, internal audit, and business teams to ensure that IT General Controls (ITGCs) and other technology-related controls are designed, implemented and operating effectively to support SOX compliance.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, execution and documentation of SOX IT compliance activities, including risk assessments, process walkthroughs and ITGC testing.
  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of IT controls over areas such as access management, change management, system operations and data backup/recovery.
  • Collaborate with IT process owners and sites to understand system environments, identify control gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen the control environment.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during SOX IT audits, providing requested documentation, system evidence and explanations.
  • Track and monitor the status of IT control deficiencies, working with IT stakeholders to ensure timely remediation and closure.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation of IT SOX controls, testing procedures and results.
  • Support the development and delivery of SOX IT compliance training and awareness programs for IT staff and other IT control owners.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes, industry best practices, and emerging risks related to SOX IT compliance and cybersecurity.
  • Prepare and present reports on SOX IT compliance status, findings and remediation progress to IT management.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives related to IT controls, security and compliance.

Position Qualifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • This position requires a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in IT SOX compliance, IT audit, information security, or a related IT risk management field.
  • Strong understanding of SOX requirements, IT General Controls (ITGCs), and risk management principles.
  • Familiarity with IT frameworks and standards such as COBIT, NIST, or ISO 27001 is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. French language is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with GRC or audit management tools is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced IT environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC or similar are preferred but not required.
