Role Overview

The ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) Project Risk and Credit Resource will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and optimization of the risk and credit management functionalities within an ETRM system. This individual will collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and business users to ensure the system meets organizational requirements for managing market risks, credit exposures, and compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, the role will include providing production support for existing systems, ensuring continuity of operations, and addressing issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

Production Support:

  • Work with technical teams to enhance and customize the ETRM system to meet specific risk and credit management needs.
  • Support production credit and risk reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reports to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot production defects and provide fixes in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to business operations.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand and resolve production defects, ensuring alignment with business needs and priorities.
  • Monitor production environments to ensure system stability and performance, addressing any issues or disruptions promptly.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests and ensure timely delivery of accurate data to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update documentation for production processes, ensuring alignment with system changes and enhancements.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on risk and credit management to support training and user adoption of the ETRM system.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to validate system design and gather feedback from stakeholders.

Testing and Validation:

  • Develop test cases and scenarios to validate risk and credit functionalities during system implementation.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure issues are resolved before system go-live.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in risk and credit-related reports and dashboards.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure the ETRM system complies with regulatory requirements related to risk and credit management.
  • Design and implement reporting tools for internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve risk and credit management capabilities.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of risk management methodologies (VaR, stress testing, etc.) and credit risk frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ETRM system architecture, configuration, and integration.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python, or similar) and reporting platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with ETRM systems (e.g., RightAngle, Allegro, Endur, or similar platforms).
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in energy trading.
  • Knowledge of commodity markets, trading instruments, and risk factors.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Key Deliverables

  • Stable and well-supported production environment with timely resolution of issues and delivery of ad hoc reporting.
  • Documentation of workflows, processes, and system configurations.
  • Training materials and user guides for risk and credit functionalities.
  • Accurate and timely risk and credit reports for stakeholders.

This role is critical to ensuring the ETRM system effectively supports the organization's risk and credit management objectives while maintaining the stability and reliability of existing production systems.
