ROLE: Payroll Specialist
REPORTS TO: Payroll Manager
LOCATION: Burnaby Head Office
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our Finance Team! The Payroll Department's mission is to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation while maintaining compliance. Our Payroll Specialist will play a key role in administering payroll and benefits across all entities of Agrifoods International Cooperative.

- You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience
- You have 4+ years of experience in Canadian payroll and accounting, including unionized environments.
- You have 3+ years of HRIS experience working with complex payroll systems, such as ADP and Avanti.
- You hold a degree in Accounting Administration or an equivalent field.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset.

Things you will do…
- Process Payroll & Provide Backup Support – Manage payroll processing for our Union and head office employees while serving as a backup for the Payroll Team
- Ensure Payroll & Benefits Accuracy – Maintain precise payroll and benefits records, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Develop & Maintain Standard Procedures – Implement and uphold payroll-related standard operating procedures and reporting structures. Ensure compliance in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain and Enhance Payroll Systems – Ensure organizational data accuracy, assist with system updates, and support process improvements.
- Support Financial & System Reporting – Assist with month-end and year-end reporting along with providing accurate and timely information to the appropriate parties.
