Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting principles and experience with general ledger processes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and support monthly and year-end close processes
- Perform account reconciliations and assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
- Handle full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Maintain accurate and timely general ledger entries and support variance analysis
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP or Canadian GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support operational accounting needs
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audits
- Contribute to the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/accounting software is a strong asset
- Solid understanding of accounting standards (US GAAP or Canadian GAAP preferred)
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams
