Role Description

• Lead the development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models for complex systems and large-scale databases.

• Collaborate with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data structures that support strategic objectives.

• Establish and enforce data modeling standards, guidelines, and best practices across the organization.

• Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and security in both on-premise and cloud-based environments.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior modelers and data team members.

• Participate in enterprise data architecture discussions and provide input into long-term data strategy.

• Conduct data profiling and source-to-target mapping activities to ensure data quality and integrity.

• Support data governance by ensuring metadata is captured and aligned with business definitions and lineage.

Required Skill Set

• Good years of experience in data modeling with strong expertise in relational, dimensional, and NoSQL modeling.

• Proficiency in industry-standard data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner).

• Deep knowledge of SQL, database design, normalization/denormalization techniques.

• Experience working with modern data platforms and cloud environments (e.g., Snowflake, Azure SQL, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).

• Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data lakes.

• Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and metadata management frameworks.

Desired Skill Set

• Experience with big data and streaming technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka).

• Exposure to data modeling in Agile and DevOps environments.

• Data architecture or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics).
