Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Location: Vancouver - Hybrid
Bill Rate: $65-80/hr inc
Duration: 6 months to start
Type: Contract
3 days onsite a week in Vancouver
Responsibilities
· Ensure the integration development team aligns with cl;ient's AWS operational standards.
· Design and document new AWS services including operational guides, deployment scripts, and monitoring procedures.
· Support pre-production environments by tracking system availability and performance.
· Assist integration teams with infrastructure configuration based on project needs.
· Improve automation and CI/CD best practices within the integration stream.
· Contribute to capacity planning, system health monitoring, and troubleshooting.
· Participate in Agile planning for patches, releases, and daily updates.
· Collaborate across development, application support, and infrastructure teams to support ongoing initiatives.
Qualifications
· 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience (IAM, S3, SFTP, SQS, EC2, EKS, Secrets Manager).
· Proficient in AWS architecture elements like VPC, Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, CloudFront, and DNS.
· 3+ years working with Terraform (CLI and Cloud) to automate infrastructure.
· 2+ years of CI/CD development experience using Jenkins, Maven, and Java.
· Solid understanding of automated deployment tools (CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline).
· Familiar with Git and modern version control workflows.
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Secondary Skills – Nice to Haves
· Familiarity with middleware and integration tools such as MuleSoft and Dell Boomi.
· Exposure to Windows-based servers hosted on AWS.
· Strong Git proficiency and working knowledge of REST/SOAP protocols.
