POSITION OVERVIEW:
As an Intermediate IT Project Manager at Navacord, you are responsible for managing IT initiatives in the areas of Digital, AI & Automation, Security, Infrastructure, and Data Migration. You will report to the Vice President, Delivery Services & Digital Support and work alongside a team of IT, business, and vendor partners to enable Navacord to accelerate its vision for long-term, strategic growth. The mandate of the IT Intermediate Project Manager is to lead technology change initiatives within Navacord, focused on delivering business objectives with accountability for leading a cross-functional team, managing executive engagement, and managing schedule, scope, risks, and budget constraints.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning and Management:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Ensure alignment of project objectives with Navacord's strategic goals and business needs.
- Contribute to the development of long-term goals, policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring proper governance and compliance.
- Stay abreast of current and future technologies, including those outside of our industry, and analyze how they can help accelerate Navacord.
Project Execution and Delivery:
- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end, including the integration of AI & Automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and deliver stakeholder reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and vendors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
- Implement Agile methodologies to streamline project workflows and improve team collaboration.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks, including cybersecurity threats and data privacy concerns.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
Governance and Standards:
- Ensure adherence to project management standards and best practices.
- Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
- Contribute to the PM practice of the department by sharing knowledge, improving processes, and mentoring junior project managers.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards and business objectives.
- Implement and oversee governance frameworks to ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years managing IT Projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- 2+ years in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Experience determining business requirements and making recommendations on IT investments and implementation of future technology.
- Significant background in managing IT projects, including digital, AI & Automation change, and the associated planning and communication between stakeholders and vendors.
- Proven communications skills with experience managing business executives stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of IT software, especially Office 365 and Applied Systems solutions.
- Experience managing change, demonstrating effective planning and change management skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to lead teams and partners in a way that promotes effective, high-quality results.
- Ability to stay current on cutting-edge technologies.
