About the opportunity:

In this dynamic and continually evolving work environment, you will be responsible for complex financial analysis. The Financial Analyst performs financial analysis on a variety of capital and special projects, researches and interprets budgets and costs, reviews and evaluates internal controls and systems to make recommendations for improvement, performs costing scenarios, executes processes related to debt maintenance, debt forecasting and investments as well as providing ongoing system maintenance and report development.


About your background:

You bring to this role either a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related field which includes courses in accounting, along with two years of related progressive experience, or a diploma with at least five years of experience. This role requires a working knowledge of complex financial analysis, budgetary analysis, auditing and accounting procedures using concepts of quantitative analysis. You are also familiar with financial, debt and/ or statistical analysis variance reporting and interpretation. Your advanced Excel skills and considerable expertise with integrated financial systems round out your qualifications for this challenging position. A valid full privilege Class 5 BC driver's license (or out of province equivalent) is required. The successful incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offenses related to the position.
