Human Resources Coordinator

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Coordinator to lead and manage the onboarding, orientation, and staff development functions within our home. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a positive employee experience from pre-hire through early employment, supporting immigration and credentialing processes, and promoting continuous staff learning and compliance. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, people-focused, and familiar with HR best practices in a healthcare or regulated setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Administrator, the HR Coordinator will work in partnership with the Finance/HR Officer, and leadership team within the facility to identify pain-points, and develop appropriate solutions to ongoing workforce development, and employee retention efforts.

Recruitment

• Collaborate with leadership team to ensure appropriate posting of internal and external job postings, and candidate evaluation/reference-checks.

• Collaborate with HANS recruitment team to identify potential recruitment pathways

• Communicate all successful recruitment efforts appropriately with appropriate team members, in preparation for onboarding

Onboarding & Orientation

• Manage and continuously improve the employee onboarding process for all new hires.

• Coordinate and oversee new employee orientation sessions, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance.

• Collaborate with department leaders to ensure departmental onboarding is well-structured and timely.

Immigration & Credentialing Support

• Support immigration processes by coordinating with legal counsel and leadership team to ensure accurate and timely documentation

• Track visa expiration dates and work authorizations; maintain employee files in compliance with federal regulations.

• Assist international employees through onboarding and relocation support as needed.

Staff Education & Development

• Identify training needs in collaboration with leadership team and develop staff education programs accordingly.

• Coordinate and deliver mandatory training programs

• Monitor staff completion of ongoing education and compliance-related training modules.

General HR Support

• Partner with leadership team, and staff on employee engagement, retention initiatives, and policy communication.

• Maintain accurate HR records related to onboarding, immigration, and training.

• Support employee lifecycle processes as needed, including performance reviews and performance improvement planning.

• Develop and maintain HR policies as appropriate for the facility

• Provide advice/guidance to leadership team on HR Best Practices

• Additional duties as may be necessary, or assigned by Administrator

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

• 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in healthcare or other regulated environments

• People management and leadership experience

• Demonstrated proficiency with software applications pertinent to scope of the role

• Strong knowledge of onboarding best practices

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail, in a timely manner

• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

Preferred Qualifications:

• CHRP Certification an Asset

• Experience supporting clinical or international staff

• Experience in a Unionized environment
