Univerus is a global enterprise software company providing solutions for Local Government, Utilities and many other public and private entities. We have offices in multiple countries and locations. As an Intermediate Accountant, you will support our accounting functions with the Univerus organization and its affiliated business units. Based in any of our Canadian Office locations (Burnaby BC, Saskatoon SK, or Peterborough ON) this is your opportunity to join a rapidly growing international software organization. Anticipated work hours are Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.30 pm.

Senior positions may be considered in the event the applicant exceeds the skills and abilities listed.

What you'll do:

·Perform day to day full-cycle accounting including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank/visa reconciliation, invoicing and wire/ACH/EFT payment.

·Maintaining recurring invoicing schedule and deferred revenue schedule

·Processing invoicing requests

·Support month-end and year-end close processes

·Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries.

·Analyze financial data and assist in the preparation of financial forecasts

·Perform other accounting duties as required

·Solving customer inquiries and internal inquiries

Role Details:

·Reports to the Corporate Controller

·Supports the entire Univerus accounting function

·Assist with standardized financial reporting and operating procedures for Business Units

·Report on and recommend changes that impact the targets for growth, profitability and working capital

Skills and abilities

·Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

·At least 3 years relevant accounting experience either in firm or industry

·Working towards CPA (Candidates with CPA accreditation would likely be considered for Senior-level position)

·Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

·Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

·Experience with SAP or other ERP system is an asset

·Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

·Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

·Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·Familiarity with accounting in the software industry is considered an asset
