The Opportunity
RLB is seeking an experienced IT Manager to join our technology team. This role will report directly to the Director of IT and will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure management, and leading a talented team of IT professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with operational excellence.
About You
- You have a university or college degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- You have at least 5 years of experience in IT management or leadership roles
- You have a strong knowledge of Azure virtualization environments
- Youre experienced with SAN storage management and implementation
- You are proficient in LAN/WAN network architecture and HP networking equipment
- You have had hands-on experience with Fortigate and Sophos security solutions
- You have experience managing Azure cloud infrastructure and services
- You have demonstrated team leadership and staff development skills
- You show strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You have project management experience and methodology knowledge
- You have certifications in:
- CompTIA A+ certification
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- Microsoft certifications (Azure, MCSE, or equivalent)
- HP networking certifications
- VMware certifications (VCP or equivalent)
- You have programming experience in Java and/or Python
- You have ITIL knowledge and implementation experience
- You have experience in the accounting industry
- You are familiar with IT service management tools
- You have business continuity and disaster recovery planning experience
About The Gig
As a key member of the team, you will be assisting other members of IT with our day-to-day IT operations. You will learn and use the following technologies including VMware, Network Security UTM devices, Ticketing systems, Video Conferencing, Microsoft Products, VPN, HP, Lenovo, Canon, LAN and WAN technologies, Accounting Software, Automation, and more. In addition to this, you will be given the opportunity to participate in architecting and deploying new projects with the IT Team. Students will also be given the opportunity to run a firm wide project throughout their co-op that allows them show off their creative side. Your teamwork, customer service and communication skills will be essential as you will collaborate with both fellow technical Team Members and firm end users.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Manage local infrastructure including VMware environments, SAN storage solutions, LAN architecture, HP networking equipment, and security systems (Fortigate and Sophos)
- Oversee and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure and related services
- Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 IT professionals, providing guidance, performance management, and professional development
- Coordinate new hardware deployments across the organization
- Execute firm-wide IT initiatives and system upgrades in collaboration with the Director of IT
- Manage IT projects from conception through implementation and evaluation
- Ensure system availability, reliability, and performance while maintaining security standards
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices
- Create and maintain documentation for IT systems and processes
- Provide technical escalation support for complex issues
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for IT services and equipment
- Assist in budget planning and resource allocation for IT operations

This is a permanent full time position which is structured as hybrid out of our Guelph office.
