OVERVIEW
Supporting all heads of Department and Departmental Vice President, the Intern - Data Management & Program Delivery will play a pivotal role in supporting cross-departmental initiatives, coordinating schedules, gathering updates, and supporting data analysis initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, remote environment, contributing to meaningful change in the circular economy.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cross-Departmental Support: Collaborate with various teams to support initiatives that span multiple departments, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Schedule Coordination: Manage and coordinate schedules for meetings, project timelines, and deliverables across departments.
  • Data Gathering & Updates: Collect, verify, and update data from various sources to maintain accurate and current information for ongoing projects.
  • Data Analysis & Storytelling: Utilize Excel to analyze large datasets and PowerPoint to create presentations that effectively communicate insights and progress to stakeholders.
  • Data Remediation: Assist the Data Management & Governance team in correcting data inconsistencies, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Project Liaison: Serve as a point of contact between project and product managers, facilitating information flow and addressing queries promptly.
  • Organizational Excellence: Maintain organized records and documentation to support ongoing initiatives or team events.
  • Research: Conduct research on recycling infrastructure, including data collection and analysis.
  • Contract Management Support: Provide administrative support to staff responsible for managing contracts, including organizing & storing documentation, tracking updates, and facilitating contract-related communications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, including but not limited to Business, Data Management, Environmental Studies, etc.

Experience

  • Technical Skills: Experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with data analysis and visualization tools is an asset.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment, showing initiative and adaptability.
  • Passion for Sustainability: A genuine interest in contributing to environmental sustainability and the circular economy.
  • Knowledge/Competencies/Skills
  • Project or Program Support: Introductory knowledge of project coordination, including tracking milestones, scheduling meetings, gathering team updates, and assisting with status reporting
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with multiple stakeholders, either in an academic group setting or workplace, demonstrating strong communication, organizational awareness, and responsiveness in fast-paced environments.
  • Presentation Development: Proven ability to transform data insights into compelling visual and narrative presentations using PowerPoint. Understanding how to tailor content for different audiences (e.g., internal business teams, technical teams, external stakeholders) is an asset
  • Data Handling & Analysis (Nice to Have): Experience working with large and complex datasets in Excel, including cleaning, organizing, validating, and analyzing data to support decision-making or program tracking. Familiarity with pivot tables, charts, and advanced formulas is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Remote Work
This position is primarily remote, with potential occasional in-person meetings in Toronto, ON.
Work Hours
Standard 40-hour workweek, with flexibility as needed to meet project deadlines.
