Oyster Shucker: As our latest Oyster Shucker, your main responsibility is to be “the face of the business” behind the wood. You will: * shuck oysters at the bar (we'll teach you how!) * prepare drinks for servers on our service bar * maintain bar cleanliness throughout your shift You have a passion for mouth-watering food and beverage. You'll have no problem learning our menu, and you'll love giving guests appetizing recommendations. You'll fit right in if you are: * Engaging – you're friendly and outgoing, and love getting to know your guests. You know how to read your customers, and intuitively give them the type of service they want. * Team-oriented – we'll always have your back, because we're in it together. When it gets busy, managers don't hesitate to jump on service bar to help you out. Like us, you're always willing to pitch in to help. * Cool under pressure – multitasking comes naturally to you. When things get busy, you stay calm and collected, and don't let the fast-pace faze you. Our guests will appreciate your sense of urgency and attentiveness. Working at Jake's Grill and Oyster House: Almost half of our staff have worked with us for more than 5 years, and some have been with us for over 20! We truly enjoy working here, and so will you. The Details: We have a part-time opportunity available, and are willing to work with you to determine the best schedule for you. It is important to note that we do NOT hire for short-term summer positions. We are looking for people who want long-term employment, and who will become part of the Jake's family. Your schedule will require you to work evenings and weekends, our busiest times. We're not open late – 7 days a week till 10p.m. Our dinner shifts are busy, so you'll never be bored. You'll be paid hourly plus gratuities Qualifications: * Smart Serve Certified (can be achieved within the first 3 months of employment * Oyster shucking experience is an asset (but not required) * Serving/bartending experience is an asset (we are willing to train!)
