About Us
At Bienenstock, we believe in the power of nature to transform. Our team of designers, educators, builders, and nature advocates are on a mission to connect children with the natural world through thoughtfully designed environments and educational experiences.
We build meaningful experiences in nature that provide space for growth, creativity, and connection. Now were looking for a 3D Visualization Specialist who shares that same love for the outdoors and design.
Position Overview
As a3D Visualization Specialist, you will play a critical role in bringing our nature-based designs to life through compelling 3D models, animations, and immersive visual storytelling. Reporting to the Managing Director of Design, you will work closely with landscape architects and designers to translate concepts into believable, experience-rich, digital scenes that inspire clients and support the design development process.
Modeling will be a core part of the work taking design concepts into three dimensions from plans, sections, precedent and AI images, and conversations with designers. You will be interpreting surveys, architectural drawings, site conditions, and materiality in a way that feels grounded and real, so your understanding of the built environment is important.
Youll also create lighting, vegetation, textures, and people to tell a clear visual story and present a sense of experience by building full scenes, animated walk-throughs, and polishing still images using tools like Photoshop to develop atmosphere and narrative. Sometimes you'll help refine the design itself identifying opportunities or challenges during the modeling and visualization process.
This role is perfect for someone with both strong modeling and visualization skills, a love of storytelling, and a real interest in how people interact with outdoor spaces. Youll be joining a team that works with some of the most progressive tools and workflows in design today, and youll have the freedom to experiment, learn, and contribute in meaningful ways. You will be supported by a collaborative team to take a project from modeling through to final presentation.

- Blender - for creating custom 3D assets.
- Twinmotion - for real-time rendering.
- Photoshop - for compositing, atmosphere, and mood refinement.
Key Responsibilities
3D Model Creation, Rendering, and Animations
- Develop accurate and detailed 3D models based on plans, sketches, and site information using tools like Rhino and Blender.
- Produce high-quality still renders, cinematic animations, and interactive scenes using real-time rendering software such as Twinmotion, Lumion, or D5.
- Apply texturing, lighting, vegetation, and atmosphere to convey spatial intent and evoke emotion in each visualization.
- Utilize Photoshop for post-processing, compositing, and refining mood, lighting, and narrative elements.
- Create and animate walk-throughs and other visual media to communicate design experience.
Design Communication and Collaboration
- Interpret architectural drawings, precedent images, and concept sketches to create coherent visual narratives.
- Accurately reflect materiality, context, inclusivity, and user interactions in all visual outputs.
- Represent textures, vegetation, children, and nature-based play in ways that are visually compelling and grounded in reality.
- Collaborate with landscape architects and designers to interpret project goals and iterate on design concepts through modeling and visual representation.
- Present work to both internal teams and external clients, contributing to a shared understanding of design intent.
- Contribute ideas and feedback during project meetings to enhance design clarity and feasibility.
- Occasionally refine design details based on visualization findings.
Workflow Optimization and Innovation
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of visualization packages.
- Manage visualization projects from early modeling through final presentation with minimal oversight.
- Explore and apply emerging technologies such as Midjourney, ChatGPT, RealityCapture, or Unreal to expand creative capacity.
- Build and refine workflows using parametric tools (e.g., Grasshopper or Blender) and maintain an organized, scalable file structure.
- Stay current with new tools, trends, and technologies in visualization and modeling.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in 3D visualization, landscape design, or a related field. New graduates with strong portfolios may be considered.
- Proficiency in Rhino and Blender; Land Kit and Grasshopper are assets.
- Experience using real-time renderers such as Twinmotion; D5 and Lumion are assets.
- Familiarity with Photoshop for post-processing and compositing.
- Understanding of 3D fundamentals: UV mapping, topology, optimization, lighting, and texture application.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and navigate platforms like AutoCAD.
- Excellent visual storytelling, scene composition, and artistic sensibility.
Nice to Have
- Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or offline renderers like V-Ray or Corona.
- Video editing experience using Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Familiarity with photogrammetry (e.g., RealityCapture), Revit, or other BIM platforms.
- Drone operation experience.
Portfolio Expectations
We are especially interested in seeing:
- Fully developed 3D models that demonstrate spatial understanding, detail, and craft.
- Strong graphical presentation skills, including compelling layouts and clear visual storytelling.
- Exterior environments that are rich in vegetation, texture, and natural materiality.
- Scenes featuring people, especially children, actively engaging with outdoor space in playful or immersive ways.
- Narrative or conceptual renderings that evoke atmosphere, emotion, and story.
- Photoshop work that brings depth and mood to your images through thoughtful lighting, color, and composition.
- Clear evidence that you can translate 2D drawings and design intent into believable, well-composed 3D scenes.
