Role:

We are seeking a Mechanical Developer Level I, to aid with the efforts in advancing Myants product portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring 2-3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with capacity in mechanical performance & life cycle testing; manufacturing & test fixtures design and fabrication; 3D printing / laser cutting and prototype building; and mechatronics & controls. Ideal candidates would have injection molding design experience, have worked in a regulatory environment (i.e. ISO 13485) and would thrive in multi-disciplinary team environments. Bonus for candidates with experience in textile; product aesthetics & ergonomics designs.

Responsibilities:

Testing:

  • Create mechanical V&V test protocols for performance and reliability
  • Conduct mechanical & product tests, write formal reports
  • Design and fabricate manufacturing & engineering test fixtures, consists of nesting features, mechanism, kinematics and controls

Design & Prototyping:

  • Support prototyping efforts; collaborate with biomedical, electrical and textile engineering teams to build functional prototypes.
  • Provide feedback and recommendation for improving product performance and manufacturing
  • Familiar with additive manufacturing, operate and maintain 3D printers
  • Design mechanical systems (enclosures and docking) for wearable devices
  • Development textile integration methods for prototyping and scale-up manufacturing

Manufacturing NPI:

  • Support transfer to manufacturing activities; (i.e. SOP, IQ/OQ/PQ, QA & Inspection documents, production staff training etc.)
  • Research and recommend manufacturing equipment, coordinate custom tooling development (i.e. heat stake, ultrasonic welding, laser marking etc.)
  • Support in manufacturing process optimization efforts.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering (R&D and NPI) environment
  • Experience taking product from conceptual to production

Technical Skills:

  • Experience in product performance testing and manufacturing testing
  • Experience in fixture and jig designs
  • Experience with programming languages relevant to robotic control systems.
  • Hands-on practical design and prototyping experience using 3D CAD software (On Shape and SolidWorks).
  • Experience with DFx, Human Factors / Ergonomics design.
  • Experience with material selection and RFQ packages and processes.
  • Experience with mass manufacturing with CMs (tooling, assembly lines, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience with various additive manufacturing techniques, including but not limited to Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS), and others.
  • Familiar with regulatory standards IEC 60601 and ISO 13485 standards.
