Our client, a leading distributor of food products to major retail accounts across Canada, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and drive our sales team. This role requires a highly motivated and results-driven individual with a strong background in managing sales teams, implementing sales strategies, and utilizing CRM systems effectively. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales plans, coaching and mentoring the sales team, and expanding market share within the Canadian retail sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Leadership & Strategy
• Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve revenue targets.
• Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis to drive revenue growth.
• Identify new market opportunities and develop strategic partnerships with sales team.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to refine sales strategies.
2. Team Management & Development
• Provide regular coaching and feedback, fostering a culture of accountability and success.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly performance reviews, ensuring individual and team sales goals are met.
3. CRM & Sales Operations
• Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track sales performance, customer interactions, and pipeline management.
• Ensure accurate data entry, reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Identify areas for automation and process improvement to increase team efficiency.
4. Reporting & Analytics
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly sales reports to senior leadership.
• Analyze key sales metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Use data-driven insights to refine sales strategies and optimize team performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
• An MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is considered an asset.
2. Experience:
• Minimum 7–10 years of sales experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, with a strong focus on food distribution.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in a leadership role, managing a sales team in a retail-focused environment.
3. Skills & Competencies:
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Proficiency in CRM systems (Zoho) and sales automation tools.
• Data-driven approach, with the ability to analyze sales reports and forecast performance.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
