Position : Procurement Specialist

Location : Burnaby, BC

Description

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join the Black & McDonald's project team. In this role, you will support the subcontracts lifecycle management process, providing proactive, methodical management of various agreements with suppliers from RFP initiation through award, execution and subcontract closure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead subcontractors in proposal, planning, execution, and closeout phases of the subcontract life cycle.
  • Support the Indigenous Opportunity Coordinator in the procurement process for Designated businesses.
  • Lead subcontract Request for Proposal (RFP) preparations through oversight of the Statement of Work (SOW), proposal evaluation, and negotiation plans.
  • Support the management of subcontractor performance, cost, and schedule.
  • Process and manage subcontractor invoices.
  • New supplier onboarding and prequalification.
  • Communicate effectively, resolve conflicts/issues, and make efficient and effective supply management decisions.
  • Proactively build strong/trusted relationships with suppliers and cross functional team members.
  • Report and attend Project status meetings, as applicable/required.

Job Requirements (experience/skills):

  • Minimum 5 years Subcontract Management and/or Supply Chain Management experience, with proven ability to manage complex subcontracts from inception to completion.
  • Experience in Indigenous engagement.
  • A post-secondary degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing subcontracts under government projects.
  • Understanding of third-party selection and onboarding processes.
  • Basic knowledge of program management including financial and risk management.
  • Awareness of import/ export legislation, Incoterms and customs rules is an asset.
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
  • Sense of urgency with the ability to respond to rapidly changing priorities in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to follow through and deliver results.
