NOTE: This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position in downtown Vancouver, with 3 set days in the office and 2 WFH.

Job Overview:As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team with a focus on platform engineering, developer tooling and automation systems. In this role, youll lead a multidisciplinary team spanning QA, DevOps, and build systems, ensuring the software delivery pipeline is scalable, fast, and reliable.

With at least one year of leadership experience, youll support and grow a team responsible for enabling developer productivity, system reliability, and release automation. You will collaborate cross-functionally to identify bottlenecks, optimize tooling (e.g., GitHub workflows), and evolve CI/CD infrastructure. Youll also partner with engineering leadership to drive quality, speed, and stability across the entire development lifecycle.

What youll do:

  • Lead a team of platform engineers, QA analysts, and DevOps specialists, ensuring alignment on team goals and technical priorities.
  • Oversee the development, improvement, and maintenance of internal build systems and developer tools.
  • Drive automation initiatives across testing, deployment, and infrastructure processes.
  • Maintain and optimize GitHub workflows and CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable delivery.
  • Manage the QA strategy to ensure strong test coverage and efficient, low-risk release cycles.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify pain points in the SDLC and deliver tooling improvements.
  • Support observability and incident-readiness efforts across shared platform systems.
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and continuous mentoring of engineers to grow team capability.

What You Should Already Have:

  • 1+ years of engineering management experience, including cross-functional team oversight.
  • 5+ years of software engineering or platform/infrastructure experience.
  • Proven success with build systems, developer tools, or CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI).
  • Experience working closely with or managing QA and DevOps functions.
  • Strong understanding of platform reliability, release engineering, and automation.
  • Clear, empathetic communication and a growth-oriented leadership style.
