The Role

This role is full time, Monday - Friday. We are a hybrid work environment with 3 days a week in the office (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) with optional remote days (Wednesday, Friday). There is potential for relocation from within Canada for the right candidate, if you want to move to the Kelowna area and be able to reliably commute into the office downtown Kelowna in the Innovation Center.
Your Responsibilities
As an Intermediate Developer, youll play a key role in bringing our web and mobile experiences to life. Youll collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA and Engineering peers to build clean, responsive interfaces and user interactions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team in an iterative, agile development process.
- Building, testing, and maintaining user-facing features using modern web technologies (e.g., Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS).
- Integrating frontend components with backend APIs to deliver seamless end-to-end functionality.
- Participating in code reviews, pair programming, and team discussions around UI/UX improvements and technical implementation.
- Troubleshooting bugs and identifying UI performance bottlenecks or usability issues.
- Helping improve our frontend architecture and codebase through incremental refactoring and shared best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional experience in frontend development, ideally with some fullstack exposure.
- Proficiency with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend frameworks.
- Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
- Experience working with APIs and handling data in frontend applications.
Solid communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn from and contribute to the team. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and iterating quickly on feedback.
- A genuine interest in creating delightful, user-friendly interfaces.
- A good sense of humor and a positive team spirit, we dont take ourselves too seriously!
Bonus Points
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or building fullstack features using NodeJS.
- Exposure to GRPC or similar communication protocols.
- Experience with MVVM architecture and component-based design systems.
- Any ownership of UI components, small features, or end-to-end deliverables.
- Some backend experience and an interest in growing as a fullstack developer.
By your 6-month mark at Minga, you will:
- Be a trusted contributor to core features, with a growing sense of ownership over key parts of the UI and user experience.
- Have led the delivery of at least one larger frontend initiative, from planning through implementation and user feedback.
- Be actively contributing ideas to improve both the product experience and how we build it, from usability enhancements to streamlining dev workflows.
- Have built strong relationships with your teammates across engineering, design, and product, and feel confident navigating the full development lifecycle.
- Feel a clear sense of autonomy in your day-to-day work, with support when needed but trust to execute and explore independently.
