Job Description: A Product Development Engineer is responsible for creating, designing, and managing the development of new products, as well as improving existing ones. This role involves working across all phases of the product lifecycle-from initial research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and supporting manufacturing. Product Development Engineers collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including market research, design, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure products meet customer needs and company goals

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market and industry research to identify customer needs and product requirements
• Generate and conceptualize new product ideas based on research, trends, and company objectives
• Design and develop product prototypes using CAD and other engineering tools
• Test prototypes and products for functionality, safety, and compliance with industry standards
• Analyze and troubleshoot design or performance issues during the development process
• Collaborate with suppliers to source materials and ensure cost-effective production
• Prepare detailed product specifications, technical drawings, and documentation for manufacturing
• Refine and optimize product designs for manufacturability, quality, and performance
• Develop and implement quality control criteria and safety guidelines
• Support the continuous improvement of existing products by identifying areas for enhancement
• Ensure all development activities comply with regulatory and industry standards

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); a Master's degree is advantageous
• Experience with product development, preferably in a relevant industry
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking abilities
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality assurance protocols
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
