Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to manage financial records and ensure accurate project accounting. This role involves overseeing job cost accounting, billing, contract analysis, and supporting project managers with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction finance and be highly proficient in industry-specific software and cost control practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain general ledger and job cost accounting for multiple construction projects
  • Track project budgets, expenses, and forecasts; analyze variances
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for project stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, billing terms, and lien requirements
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations
  • Support external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Collaborate with project managers and estimators to manage cost projections
  • Utilize construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, QuickBooks, Procore)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of WIP reporting, and job costing
  • Proficient with construction accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate financial data effectively with non-finance stakeholders
