This position supports Special Events and Rentals, Programming and Technical staff with the set-up and tear-down, front desk sign-in and attendance tracking, bartending, general floater, cleaning, facilitating an engaging and safe environment for visitors to explore THEMUSEUM, and other duties that are appropriate.
HOURS:
Part time occasional. Events are varying, often occurring on Thursday Saturday. Shift times tend to range from 3pm 3am, with occasional full day rentals occurring in the summer and winter holiday months.
Approx. 0-20 hours a week.
Wage: $17.70/per hour
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Events: Set up/Tear down of Rentals and Events:
Completes set-up and tear-down requirements including moving geos, blocks, tables, linens, and stage with direction from Special Event and Technical staff.
Assists with technical set-up/ tear-down.
Cleans before, during, and after an event including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, auto scrubber, wiping surfaces, laundry, garbage & recycling removal, and other duties that are unique to each event.
Events: Desk Attendant:
Serves as primary ambassador to the THEMUSEUM, welcoming guests, answering phones, directing inquiries, providing orientation and information about the event, processing payments, etc.
Demonstrate ability to react positively to visitor feedback and to manage conflict effectively.
Counts and clicks all guests into the building.
Unlocks/locks doors at the beginning/end of the event.
Ensures only guests at the event are in the building.
Events: Bartender Back
Set-up and tear down tables, linens, glassware, ice, troughs, garbage/recycling, etc.
Ensure drinks are ready to go for the event and that there is enough ice to last for the entire event.
Restocks bar throughout the night.
Keeps the area organized.
Follows Smart Serve.
Find empty glassware and return to bar, run dishwasher, and polish glasses
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants with a Smart Serve designation will be given preference.

First Aid and CPR certificate
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three months related experience, including:
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Excellent customer service, time management, leadership, and communication
Ability to deal confidently with emergency situations
Experience with cash handling and POS systems
Familiarization with setting up and running a basic bar
Ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs.
