Our Specialist, Grants & Investment Programs, supports the successful delivery and monitoring of Travel Alberta's grant and investment programs. Our Specialist will work with internal and external stakeholders to lead grant administration and support program management. Key responsibilities include working across the organization to support grant intake, ensuring ongoing data integrity, and providing analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities:
Grant & Investment Operations:
Work with tourism operators and internal teams to support grant administrative, operational and reporting requirements.
Support with the updating of grant guidelines, process documentation, reporting forms, and agreement templates for the grant program.
Ensure team members are aware of grant-related program dates and deadlines.
Supports the management and monitoring of the grant program budget.
Support the Destination Development team in ensuring grant applicants meet initial eligibility requirements.
Gather and centralize grant documentation and performance results from recipients, input data into database, and generate reports for management upon request.
Develop a variety of documents to support the assessment of grant application conducted the grant evaluation team.
Develop and review quantitative data and provide analysis on trends and overall performance of Travel Alberta's grant program.
Manage Travel Alberta's Tourism Investment Program SharePoint site.
Support financial reconciliation of grants and adhere to internal policies, processes and procedures.
Seek opportunities to evolve the grant program based on best practices from other jurisdictions and make recommendations to improve efficiencies.
Monitor and report on the success of Travel Alberta's grant programs, including the Tourism Investment Program, strategic partnerships and aviation agreements and you will identify trends and opportunities for program improvement.
Supports the process of making updates to the grant management tool.
Communication and Stakeholder Relations:Manage Travel Alberta's Tourism Investment Program email inbox.
Support incoming inquiries on the investment program and provide timely responses.
Engage with other business units to update grant related communications for corporate reporting purposes, including requests for information by our shareholder.
Support stakeholders in meeting financial and performance reporting requirements.
Ensure stakeholders are aware of the upcoming deadlines.
Work with internal stakeholders to ensure Travel Alberta's grant program results are effectively communicated.
Engage with external stakeholders to solve grant administration challenges.
Team Support:Go-to resource for the destination development team, staying up to date, and supporting the team with adhering to internal policies, processes and procedures.
Assists the team with facilitation of commercial investment related team meetings.
Provides back-up administrative support to other team members, as needed.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration.
A minimum of three years' experience in a grant administration role.
Combination of experience and education may be considered.
Knowledge and experience of government processes and procedures.
Ability to use technology and financial management systems, and other tools designed to record and capture financial and reporting data.
High level of expertise in using Microsoft tools.
Highly skilled in quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques.
Energetic and thrive in fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner using both verbal and written communications.
Demonstrated an ability to think critically, address complex issues and are solution oriented.
Ability to respond to sensitive situations involving diverse stakeholders.
