As a Full Stack Developer Intern (Shopify Focus), you'll collaborate with our engineering and operations teams to develop and optimize Shopify storefronts. You'll gain exposure to custom apps, API integrations, UX improvements, and real-time troubleshooting—perfect for interns aiming to build a career in full-stack eCommerce development.
This is an onsite internship—you'll work closely with our team at our Pearl West headquarters, gaining mentorship, exposure to real client work, and the opportunity to contribute directly to live Shopify stores.Key Learning Objectives & Responsibilities
• Support Custom Feature Development – Assist in developing Shopify functionalities using Liquid, JavaScript, and backend technologies
• Collaborate on Checkout Enhancements – Support improvements to the checkout experience and cart features
• Learn API Integration Techniques – Work with developers to connect Shopify with third-party services like CRMs, analytics, and automation tools
• Performance Optimization – Assist in identifying areas to improve site speed and UX
• Custom Theme Contributions – Contribute to UI/UX enhancements using React, Vue.js, or Alpine.js frameworks
• Debugging & QA Support – Help identify and fix bugs, test new features, and support app integrations
• Cross-Team Collaboration – Work with marketing and design teams to ensure development supports business goalsIdeal Candidate Profile
Basic Requirements:
• Current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and foundational backend knowledge (Node.js, Python, or Ruby)
• Interest or experience in Shopify development, eCommerce, or custom web apps
• Familiarity with REST or GraphQL APIs
• Passion for learning and solving problems through code
Nice-to-Haves:
• Previous internship or side projects related to eCommerce platforms
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Alpine.js)
