RESPONSIBILITES:
- Responsible for producing accurate and timely monthly financial statements. Monthly responsibilities include:
- Preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and analysis of GL accounts for completeness and accuracy
- Variance analysis by business segment (MoM and YoY)
- Completion of all required month-end/year-end closing procedures
- Prepare monthly internal and external statements for Managed Lots
- Prepare, coordinate and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and notes
- Implement and maintain reporting procedures and processes to comply with internal control requirements and manage risk
- Maintain well organized electronic archive of financial documentation for all transactions.
- Investigate and implement changes to Accounting Standards (IFRS)
- Lead specific sections of Annual external statutory audit and internal audit projects
- Identify potential risks and opportunities impacting financial goals and execute on action plans to address gaps
- Finance SAP subject matter expert and Master Data owner ensuring compliance and strong data governance
- Execute process improvements for cost savings opportunities, efficiencies and risk management
- Document and monitoring of internal controls and process improvements
- Ensure internal policies and procedures are updated to meet current business needs
- Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to improve controls and reduce the timing to close the financial period
- Lead and implement changes in processes across the enterprise that have financial impacts
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education with a business, finance or accounting focus is required
- 5 years of experience in an accounting environment
- Accounting designation (CPA) preferred or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills with solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills, sound initiative, critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimum supervision
- Strong problem analysis and solving skills, ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, identify and resolve problems independently and in a timely manner
- Intermediate level experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred
- Self driven with attention to detail and ability to consistently generate a high-quality work product is critical as group analysis is presented to directors and above on a regular basis.
- Excellent relationship building skills in order to develop and sustain client partnerships as well as working in a cross functional environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Able to adapt quickly to change, is proactive and flexible
- Has a proven process improvement track record
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, especially Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, “if” and “V/H Lookup” and other financial functions)
- Possess high degree of professionalism, integrity and respect for confidentiality
