SALES COORDINATOR

Courtyard & Residence Inn by Marriott, Calgary South

The Sales Coordinator will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining quality group accounts. A self-starter who is as adept at picking up the phone to make cold calls as they are at nurturing existing key accounts to maximum profitability, theSales Coordinator
will be an integral part of the team tasked with developing and managing revenues. To be successful, the Sales Coordinator
will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment where results, recognition, and reward go hand in hand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist & collaborate with Director of Sales & Business Development Manager with the day-to-day task.

Establish active communication and engage with hotel operations team for successful delivery of services.

Arrange for creation and distribution of supporting documents and presentations to help sales team in generating business leads.

Maintain organized sales records and report month-end goal setting as required.

Perform hotel site tours with potential clients.

Answer telephone and respond to caller inquiries in a pleasant manner.

Serve as a point of contact for clients and communicate with them by phone and email to respond to questions and requests.

Prepare sales related documents throughout the sales process. (example, Proposals, Contracts, banquet event orders etc.)

Interact to clients in regards to leads, hotel needs and client travel.

Ability to travel within Calgary for sales and special off-site events representing our hotels.

Produce room sales through prospecting, networking, responding to inquiries, conducting site inspections, client meetings and building relationships with corporations, industry suppliers, event planners, tour companies, tourism industry officials, etc.

Maintain the existing client base.

Provide sales reports as required by the company.

Maintain accurate and timely sales activity logs in the companys SFA database.

Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and maintain up-to-date files of competitors activities, prices, brochures, sales kits, etc.

Participate in site inspections, FAMs, trade shows, sales trips, hosted events, and community initiatives as required.

Liaise with partners and consumer marketing to coordinate co-op ad and marketing program opportunities

Partner relationship building and maintenance.

Organize and conduct introductory & planning site visits in a professional manner that addresses the needs of the guests/groups while showcasing our hotel and offerings.

Be knowledgeable of the strategic sales plan and sell and negotiate group room rates based on achieving hotel goals, maintaining average room rates, and the number of room nights sold.

Other duties as assigned by Director of Sales & Business Development Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Required

Previous Sales or Customer Relation experience, minimum of two years, in a similar setting is required

Diploma/degree in a related field is an asset

Knowledge of Salesforce Platforms and FOSSE PMS is an asset. However, not required.

Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications is required, and prior experience with property management systems is an asset

Proven ability to problem solve, interact with many moving parts and collaborate with various areas throughout the hotel

Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to focus attention on guest needs while always remaining calm and professional

Desired Education

A High School Diploma or GED required

A Diploma in Hospitality Management considered an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May be required to work early morning, late evening and weekend shifts
