The Role:

We are seeking a certified School Bus Trainer / Signing Authority to lead training programs for new and experienced drivers in accordance with MTO regulations. This role is essential to ensuring that W.A.T. drivers meet the highest standards in safety, service, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-class and in-vehicle training to prospective and current drivers
  • Evaluate driver performance and road readiness in line with licensing and safety standards
  • Conduct MTO-mandated training sessions, including refreshers and evaluations
  • Act as a Signing Authority with the MTO to assess and approve road test readiness
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions and compliance documentation
  • Train and coach drivers on W.A.T. safety protocols, accessibility best practices, and company policies
  • Ensure all training materials meet current provincial and MTO standards

Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario Class B driver's license with a minimum of 3 years' experience and a clean abstract
  • Certified Signing Authority with the MTO (required)
  • PRIDE certification is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of school bus safety, accessibility procedures, and MTO regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends

Pay: $20.00 per hour
