Position Summary
This is a true “hunter” sales role ideal for a motivated rep with a proven ability to grow underdeveloped markets. You'll inherit a modest but long-standing book of business and be tasked with expanding market share in Ontario. The focus is on face-to-face selling, opening new accounts, and deepening relationships with distributors, contractors, and channel partners in the building materials sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales across Ontario, targeting:
- Roofing distributors
- Building supply yards and window & door dealers
- Commercial glaziers and general contractors
- Manage a mix of new business development and account expansion
- Maintain a strong presence in the field (4+ days/week) – this is not a desk job
- Educate customers on product specs, benefits, and installation support
- Collaborate with inside sales and customer service to ensure fulfillment
- Prepare and follow up on quotes, presentations, and sales materials
- Participate in trade shows and industry events as needed
- Use CRM and call reporting tools to track progress
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in building materials, construction supply, or a related field
- Proven track record of exceeding targets, growing territory revenue, and opening new accounts
- Self-starter who thrives in a field-based role
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Comfortable with light overnight travel (4–5 nights/month)
- Based within a reasonable commute to Mississauga warehouse (e.g., Burlington, Oakville, North York)
