Were looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoys working across departments in a dynamic, multi-entity business with plenty on the go.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Intermediate Accountant, youll play a key role in supporting the financial health of both divisions. You'll manage day-to-day accounting activities, contribute to financial reporting, and collaborate across teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Core Accounting & Compliance

  • Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Complete month-end reconciliations (prepaids, deposits, capital assets) and bank reconciliations
  • Maintain and update capital asset schedules and apply depreciation accurately
  • File GST/PST returns and ensure compliance with applicable legislation
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and support regulatory compliance
  • Assist with year-end processes, including working papers and external audit preparation

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal stakeholders
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis
  • Conduct inventory and expense reviews with department leads
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support operational decision-making

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Oversee accounts payable, including vendor payments and credit card transaction reviews
  • Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collections
  • Provide oversight and support to administrative staff on invoice coding and approvals

Cross-Functional Support & Process Improvement

  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure proper coding and expense tracking
  • Review and maintain insurance and business registration documentation
  • Assist with maintaining WCB requirements (operations in 4 provinces)
  • Ability to review and record multi-currency transactions
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist with property management accounting as needed
  • Provide mentorship or support to junior accounting staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING

Were looking for someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. You bring a mix of hands-on accounting experience and a proactive mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 35 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a dynamic or multi-entity environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset
  • Strong understanding of Canadian tax regulations, including GST/PST
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
