Buyer/Executive Assistant

Position Summary
This hybrid role is perfect for a sharp, tech-savvy, and driven professional seeking variety in their day-to-day. You'll directly support the President while owning purchasing and logistical functions tied to raw materials and finished goods. The role offers a unique growth opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, gain deep operational exposure, and contribute to both tactical execution and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support (Approx. 35%)
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the President.
  • Manage correspondence, calendar, and presentation preparation.
  • Support with correspondence aid, and travel arrangements.
  • Assist with data entry and administrative updates in ERP/accounting systems.

Procurement & Purchasing (Approx. 65%)
  • Source and purchase raw materials and assist with equipment maintenance and parts.
  • Manage purchasing for a high-end European skylight product line, including inventory planning and special orders.
  • Issue purchase orders, coordinate deliveries, and track supplier performance.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing teams.

Freight & Logistics
  • Schedule and coordinate freight shipments across Canada.
  • Evaluate and negotiate carrier rates to optimize shipping costs.
  • Monitor and adapt to changing freight market conditions.

Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of purchasing, buying, or supply chain coordination experience.
  • Strong computer proficiency; IT problem solving, ERP and Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English required.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable multitasking.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
