The role involves responding to customer inquiries, managing requests, providing education on EWSWA programs, and ensuring smooth implementation of the Green Bin Program. The CSR will play a vital role in promoting sustainability efforts and ensuring the community's engagement with the program.Why Work With Us?The Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority (EWSWA) is the governmental agency charged with the responsibility of providing an economical and environmentally conscious integrated solid waste management system for the County of Essex (County) and the City of Windsor (City). The mission of the EWSWA is to provide programs to manage the solid, non-hazardous waste generated in the County and the City in an environmentally sound manner through processes which include, but are not necessarily limited to, reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, and landfilling.What You'll DoIn this role, you will be responsible for:
- Customer Support:
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries regarding the Green Bin Program, and other services or programs provided by EWSWA
- Address and resolve customer complaints, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary
- Educate residents on the proper use of the Green Bin and other waste diversion programs, such as acceptable materials, set-out requirements, and repair programs
- Program Rollout Support:
- Assist with the launch of the Green Bin Program as needed, including supporting the Green Bin delivery, promotion and education (P&E) programming, start-up, repair program, etc.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, such as, but not limited to: service requests, inquiries, and complaints
- Input data especially for EWSWA programs, as well as track and report their effectiveness
- Directly support EWSWA collection programs by working with management and the contractor and providing daily reports, flag lists, etc.
- Community Engagement and Promotion:
- Attend community events and meetings to promote the Green Bin Program and other EWSWA initiatives as needed
- Provide clear, concise, and accurate information about the Green Bin Program and other EWSWA programs to customers
- Administrative Support:
- Process and track customer requests for EWSWA programs, including the Green Bin Program for items such as repairs, replacements, or other support as needed
- Prepare reports and correspondence related to customer service activities and program performance, as well as other EWSWA programs as needed
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure effective communication and smooth program operation
- Liaise with external vendors or contractors and municipalities involved in the Green Bin Program, as well as other EWSWA programs, as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary education in environmental studies, customer service, communications, or a related field is an asset
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in an environmental or waste management setting
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle a high volume of inquiries professionally and efficiently
- Knowledge of waste diversion programs and sustainability practices, such as the Green Bin Program, Blue Box Program, proper disposal strategies, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities and varying levels of understanding
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and customer management systems
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments
- Comfortable using digital platforms and technologies for customer service and reporting
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel within Windsor and/or the County of Essex
- Must provide a Ministry of Transportation Driver Abstract (Uncertified)
- Must provide a Police Information Check (PIC) document
