We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shipper/Receiver & Skilled Labourer to join our team. This dual-role position involves overseeing shipping and receiving duties while also performing a variety of skilled labour tasks in support of our construction department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically fit, safety-conscious, and has hands-on experience in fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities:
Shipping & Receiving Duties- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders/invoices
- Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies
- Label, sort and organize inventory in the warehouse or storage yard.
- Prepare items for outgoing shipments including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate deliveries and pickups with transportation providers
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using inventory management tracking sheets.
- Deliver to site and store, inventory and or millwork from shop
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
- Assist with construction, assembly, installation, or maintenance tasks as required.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, loading/unloading materials, and site clean up.
- Follow site safety protocols and contribute to a safe woking environment.
- Support skilled tradespeople (eg. carpenters, millworkers, operations) as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment.
- Experience in general labour or skilled trades (construction, fabrication, etc.).
- Valid forklift certification is an asset.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Drivers License (Class 5 or equivalent) is a requirement, clean drivers abstract.
- Indoor/outdoor work depending on tasks
- Exposure to various weather conditions and physical environments
- Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) required at all times.
