The Universal Group, recognizedasone ofCanadas best-managed companies in 2024, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Marketing role within our marketing team. The Director of Marketing will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive customer acquisition, and generate revenue. They will collaborate with our sales team and will need to possess strong leadership skills and an ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment. The Director of Marketing will provide national support across all regions and brands within The Universal Group of companies.

What you will be responsible for:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the companys overall business goals
  • Lead the development and execution of brand, digital, and demand generation campaigns
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to the marketing team, ensuring alignment with the companys vision and mission

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive insights
  • Utilize data-driven insights to refine and improve marketing efforts and track key performance metrics
  • Lead and manage the analysis of marketing data to measure ROI and continuously optimize marketing programs

Brand and Content Strategy

  • Oversee brand development and positioning, ensuring consistency across all channels and customer touchpoints
  • Lead the creation of compelling content that engages target audiences and builds brand authority
  • Foster collaboration with product, sales, and customer success teams to create unified messaging

Digital Marketing and Technology

  • Drive digital marketing initiatives, including corporate website, SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and paid advertising campaigns
  • Stay on top of emerging market technologies, platforms, and trends, ensuring the company remains at the cutting edge of digital marketing

Talent Management and Collaboration

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing marketing team
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within the organization, including sales, product, and leadership teams
  • Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance metrics to measure team success

Budget and Resource Management

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve maximum impact
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing strategic recommendations based on outcomes

External Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors to support marketing initiatives
  • Represent the brand at industry events, conferences, and meetings

What we need from you:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute marketing plans that drive business results.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and motivating teams to achieve goals and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including marketing automation, CRM, and analytics tools.
  • Experience in B2B marketing preferred, with knowledge of enterprise software or technology industry a plus.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a willingness to experiment with new ideas and approaches.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
