Morningstar Air Express Inc. is seeking aManager, Maintenance Operations to join the MaintenanceDepartment, headquartered at the Edmonton International Airport. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, this position is responsible for the oversight of the Maintenance Operations Control team, Maintenance bases and technical dispatch of our fleet consisting of Boeing 757, Aerospatiale ATR, SkyCourier 408 and Cessna C208 aircraft.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Comply with the company safety policies and procedures found in the SMS manual and OH&S Manual.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the continuous improvement of safety and security, as well as to the principles of quality assurance and sound aircraft maintenance practices.
  • Ensure that control is maintained over all aspects of Maintenance Planning and Control.
  • Ensure daily maintenance aircraft activities are managed and communicated to the Director of Maintenance, General Manager and Morningstars customers.
  • Ensure technical dispatch of the aircraft is achieved daily.
  • Ensure appropriate communication between Bases, Maintenance Operations Control, and Company stakeholders; keeping appropriate departments apprised of aircraft status.
  • Ensure adequate manpower resources are available within the Maintenance Operations Control/Planning department; reviewing and approving department absenteeism (vacation, training, meetings, etc.).
  • Assist the Director of Maintenance in amendments to company documents, development of the annual budget and any other items related to the maintenance operation.
  • Ensure Manufacturers Maintenance Planning Documents are reviewed and incorporated into the appropriate maintenance programs.
  • Ensure conference calls related to aircraft ex. ATR, Boeing, Cessna are managed.
  • Assist Technical Records with documentation/records concerns.
  • Represent Maintenance Operations at the Company morning operations meetings.
  • Ensure any duties assigned to Maintenance Operations Control are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure production representatives are appointed for heavy and special maintenance visits.
  • Assume the duties of the Director of Maintenance for up to 30 days in his absence.
  • Participate as a member of the Aircraft Reliability Committee.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven supervisory/management experience;
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities:
  • Transport Canada M1 and/or M2 license required;
  • Type rated on Boeing B757 and Aerospatiale ATR. Experience on Cessna C208 aircraft beneficial;
  • Must either possess or be able to obtain Transport Canada security clearance.
