Our client is searching for a Corporate Accountant to join their team. This role will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting across multiple entities within the company. A successful candidate will be eager to learn, highly adaptable to change, and driven to improve processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Oversee and execute full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for all entities within the company, including day-to-day external transactions and internal intercompany activities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for the senior executive team
- Reconcile shared expenses and process chargebacks between related companies
- Manage day-to-day banking activities, including deposits, fund transfers and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare and file GST and other required filings to the CRA for all corporate entities
- Monitor and manage cash flow across all companies to prevent overdrafts while optimizing interest earned
- Track accounts receivable and promptly notify management of overdue or high-risk accounts
- Coordinate with various divisions to ensure accurate financial data support business operations
- Assist in preparing and submitting monthly mortgage draws
- Support the Corporate Controller with various accounting specific tasks, implementation of new processes and operational accounting projects
- Collaborate with and provide coverage for the Construction and Property Management Accounting teams during periods of absence or vacation
- Post Secondary education in Accounting or a related field is preferred
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Knowledge and previous experience within the Real Estate, Property Management or Construction/Development industries is considered an asset, but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across all areas of accounting
- Proven ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-organized financial reports, with effective verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience with Sage 50 and Sage Intacct is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, is valued
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and adapt to a wide range of personalities, work styles, and organizational cultures
