Objective
To provide exceptional food and beverage service at Table Food and Drink, ensuring a warm and welcoming dining experience for all guests. The Server will be responsible for taking orders accurately, delivering meals promptly, and maintaining a high standard of hospitality. This role requires strong communication skills, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service in a casual fine dining, upscale restaurant inside Coast Hotel Canmore.
Duties and responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service in a casual fine dining, upscale restaurant setting.
Greet guests warmly, present menus, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system efficiently.
Serve food and drinks in a timely and professional manner, ensuring proper presentation.
Monitor tables to anticipate guest needs, refill beverages, and clear empty dishes.
Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints with professionalism and a problem-solving attitude.
Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including resetting tables promptly for new guests.
Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
Assist in side duties such as polishing glassware, folding napkins, and stocking service stations.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations to uphold high restaurant standards.
Process payments accurately, provide change, and handle cash and card transactions responsibly.
Upsell menu items and promotions to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue.
Work as part of a team to create a positive and efficient work environment.
Education and Qualification
1-2 years of serving experience in a high-volume or upscale dining environment required.
1 year of banquet setup experience preferred.
Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Adaptable, resourceful, and proactive in handling dynamic and high-pressure situations.
A team-oriented, flexible, and energetic approach to service.
Proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with guests professionally.
ProServe certification is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and cocktails, with the ability to make pairing recommendations.
