RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee all vehicle and personnel entries and exits within the yard to ensure proper documentation and safety compliance.
  
• Supervise on-site operations to maintain high standards of service and product quality.
• Ensure accurate and efficient loading of goods, adhering to company protocols and client requirements.
• Manage reception processes, including verification and intake of incoming goods or materials.
• Monitor and uphold service quality delivered to clients, ensuring it meets or exceeds expectations.
• Guarantee product quality at the client site, addressing any discrepancies or issues promptly.

Yard Management:

• Supervise daily operations of the steel and gypsum yard.
• Ensure the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the yard
  

Delivery Preparation:

• Coordinate the preparation of orders for delivery
• Ensure materials are properly packaged and ready for transport
• Collaborate with drivers to optimize delivery routes
  

Customer Service:

• Welcome and advise customers on available products
• Address questions and resolve customer issues efficiently
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers
  

Inventory Management

• Monitor stock levels and place orders to avoid shortages
• Conduct regular inventories and adjust stock levels accordingly
• Use inventory management systems to track material movements
  

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and regulations
• Organize regular inspections of the yard and equipment
• Train staff on safety procedures and best practices
  

Leadership and Team Management:

• Supervise and train yard staff
• Plan work schedules and distribute tasks
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
  

EDUCATION

High school Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)

EDUCATION

• Experience in managing a steel yard or construction materials
• Skills in inventory management and logistics
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and make decisions
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulation
  

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION

• Forklift certification is an asset
  

ENVIRONMENT OR PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mainly outdoor work in a construction or gypsum yard
• Frequent interaction with truck drivers and suppliers
• Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold
