Front Desk / Guest Services Summer Position
Location: Downtown Ottawa Hotel
Job Type: Part-Time (1620 hours/week)
Schedule: Rotational shifts (7:00 AM3:00 PM, 11:00 AM7:00 PM, or 3:00 PM11:00 PM). Schedules confirmed with 2-week lead time.
Start Date: Immediate
End Date: Late August, early September
Reports To: Front Office Manager
Join our energetic and friendly summer team at our busy downtown Ottawa hotel located near City Hall. As a member of our Front Desk team, youll be the first point of contact for guestsproviding a warm welcome, managing check-ins and check-outs, and helping ensure a smooth, enjoyable stay. This is a seasonal part-time position ideal for someone outgoing, organized, and passionate about customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure.
- Complete check-in/check-out procedures using the hotels reservation system.
- Answer phones and respond to emails regarding bookings and general inquiries.
- Provide guests with information on hotel amenities, services, and nearby attractions.
- Handle guest concerns and requests quickly and professionally.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Keep the front desk area clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Process payments and issue room keys with accuracy.
- Work as part of a collaborative and upbeat team.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French, Spanish, or other languages is a strong asset.
- Availability for weekends and holidays is required
- Previous front desk or customer service experience is an advantage.
- Friendly, positive, and confident communicator.
- Able to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment.
- Comfortable with computers; reservation system experience is a plus (training provided).
- Reliable and punctual.
