HR Generalist (Part-Time 16-Month Contract)
Location: Onsite in Kanata
Schedule: TuesdayThursday (3 days/week)
Term: 16-month maternity leave contract (with onboarding overlap)

In this role, youll support the day-to-day HR function while also helping foster a vibrant, connected workplace. You'll report directly to the VP of People Operations, playing a key role in both employee support and event coordination.

What Youll Do HR Generalist Responsibilities
Support employee lifecycle needs, from onboarding to offboarding
Assist with performance management coordination and tracking
Administer and maintain BambooHR, including employee records, time off, and checklists
Support benefit administration and employee leave processes
Respond to employee questions around policies, procedures, and compensation
Assist with the recruitment process (job postings, resume screening, interview coordination)
Ensure HR documentation, including the Employee Handbook, remains current
Track and report on key HR metrics (e.g., time to hire, retention, engagement)
Help maintain compliance with employment standards and legislation
People & Culture Initiatives
Organize and host monthly staff lunches, internal events, and holiday celebrations
Coordinate team building activities and lunch & learns
Draft employee newsletters and updates
Help maintain our employer brand through social media (with internal highlights and events)
Capture and share moments that celebrate our team culture
About You
Youre experienced in HR administration and love supporting teams behind the scenes
Youre approachable, professional, and bring positive energy into every room
Youre highly organized and confident juggling systems, checklists, and people-focused initiatives
Youre comfortable working independently in a part-time role, while collaborating closely with leadership
You thrive in a supportive, high-performing team and love contributing to great culture
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator role
Familiarity with HR software (BambooHR is a strong asset)
Strong understanding of Ontario employment standards and HR best practices
Experience planning team events or employee engagement initiatives
Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
