Broad Purpose:

We are looking for a Stacker Operator (Take Off) for our Ancaster location. This position will be reporting to the Production Supervisor. They key responsibility is to safely operate and maintain the equipment/machinery to produce quality products per company quality policy.

General Job Duties:

  • Follow instructions of Knifeman, work as a team and be a team member
  • Back up for Knifeman whenever required
  • Assist with problems and help to keep machine running to targets
  • Ensure units are stacked squarely and neatly
  • Re-pile sheets when required re: warp etc.
  • Visually inspect and remove any non-conforming sheets
  • Operate and attend label applicator, sheet insertion, and skid inserter.
  • Placement of load tags for order identification as required.
  • Perform quality checks after and during runs
  • Signal the wet end regarding quality issues
  • Make control adjustments when necessary for BHS Stacker, Labeler, Sheet insertion and skid inserter.
  • Prepare machine for shift shutdown when required which may require overtime
  • Follow all ISO and HACCP procedures
  • Perform check of oil levels and refill as needed
  • Lube / grease corrugator – dry end as required
  • Perform housekeeping as required i.e.: clean-up conveyor and rollers
  • Perform cleaning/blow off of the slitter-scorer-knife after PM performed by maintenance mechanic
  • Reports all problems to Knifeman or your supervisor when they occur
  • Daily clean up and P.M. at end of shift
  • Other duties as assigned

Safety Responsibility and Accountability:

  • Follow equipment specific physical lock out tag out procedure
  • Mobile equipment operator to ensure daily operator checklist is completed after use. I.e. Clamp truck, Forklift, Elevated work platforms.
  • Report all hazards / problems to your Supervisor when they occur.
  • Other available tools are when hazard rating is low.
    • Pre-use inspection form
    • Use Manager plus and place a work request
    • Use of hazard reporting form
  • Report injury / incident to your Supervisor immediately
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety act, and Good housekeeping practices.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) – Gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, Hi- viz vest in Shipping/warehouse
  • Abide by all plant rules, safety rules and regulations of the Company
  • Keep fire equipment and exits clear all time
  • Zero Tolerance - Workplace Violence and Harassment: Refer to the policy posted on the H&S board.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 10
  • Basic Math
  • Previous manufacturing experiences an asset
