Our client in Regina, SK is looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst for an initial 8 month contract till March 31,

2026, reference SX7166, with the option for additional renewals. This is an onsite role and the successful candidate(s)

must be currently residing in the Regina area or be willing to relocate to the area for the duration of the contract.

Things You Need to Have:

 Resource must have a minimum 10 years experience, within the last 15 years working with modern data management

principles, in a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role

 Resource must have Degree or Diploma in Computer Science / Engineering, Data Sciences or a related discipline, or

minimum 10 years related work experience

 SQL Expertise / ability to write and optimize SQL queries

 SQL Expertise / create and maintain reporting and SQL scripts

 Cloud Expertise / Power BI Service

 Lakehouse architecture / Microsoft Azure and DataBricks

 Additional skills as identified in the skills matrix

 Resource must be able to work and be located full-time on site in Regina, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

What you will be doing:

Business Intelligence Analyst Resource required with a broad-based background of technical experience and

deep technical expertise in data management principles, business intelligence tools, and data architectural

methodologies. As a data-driven organization, our client leverages advanced analytics and business intelligence to

enhance decision-making and drive operational excellence. The Business Intelligence Analyst role is pivotal in

transforming data into actionable insights that support strategic objectives and digital transformation goals.

The role involves designing and implementing technology solutions that our client to achieve its digital transformation

goals. This includes the development and optimization of SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation, creating and

maintaining reporting and SQL scripts, and providing insights into changing reporting needs and requirements. Business

Intelligence Analysts apply their expertise in Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and other business intelligence reporting

environments to deliver tailored content and effective presentations. They work closely with the Business Units to guide

them through the solutioning process and into final delivery, ensuring that the solutions meet the business needs of the

organization. The skills required for the Business Intelligence Analyst role are broad and encompass technical disciplines

such as cloud expertise in Power BI Service, Microsoft Azure, and Databricks, as well as knowledge of Lakehouse

architecture and Delta format. Strong logical and problem-solving skills are essential to address data-related challenges

and derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.

Business Intelligence Analysts are engaged in enterprise design and development, overseeing the reporting integration

and visualization of data from legacy and on-premises systems to new solutions. Additionally, the role requires

commitment to operational excellence in delivering customer-focused experiences, adherence to industry security

standards, and compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

Typical activities in this role include but not limited to:

1. Communicating and Presenting Effectively: The Business Intelligence Analyst must be an expert communicator,

capable of presenting complex information in a clear and tailored manner to various audiences.

2. Guiding Business Solutions: The role involves working closely with the Business Units to guide them through the

entire solutioning process, from initial concept to final delivery.

3. Designing and Implementing Technology Solutions: The analyst will design and implement technology

solutions that support digital transformation goals.

4. Applying Data Architectural Methodologies: Experience with data architectural methodologies is essential to

ensure the integrity and efficiency of data systems.

5. Identifying and Mitigating Technical Risks: The analyst will identify potential technical risks and devise

strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the success of projects.

The proposed Business Intelligence Analyst resource candidate will preferably have the following skills

and experience listed below:

1. SQL Expertise: The ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation is crucial.

Additionally, the analyst should be able to create and maintain reporting and SQL scripts.

2. Power BI and Business Intelligence Tools: Extensive experience with Power BI and other business intelligence

reporting environments is required. This includes strong knowledge of Power Query and DAX within the Power BI

environment.

3. Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in cloud services such as Power BI Service, Microsoft Azure, and Databricks is

necessary.

4. Lakehouse Architecture and Delta Format: Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and Delta format is important

for managing and analyzing large datasets.

5. Insight into Reporting Needs: The analyst should provide insights into the changing reporting needs and

requirements of the company and offer suggestions for technical solutions.

6. Data Analysis: The ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights is essential for making

informed business decisions.

7. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong logical and problem-solving skills are required to address data related challenges

effectively.

8. Reporting Integration and Visualization: The analyst will oversee the integration and visualization of data from

legacy and on-premises systems to new solutions.

9. Content and Data Management: Experience with content management and data management programs and

governance is necessary.

10. Star Schema and Analytical Data Models: Knowledge of star schema and analytical data models is important

for structuring data efficiently.

11. Compliance and Security Standards: Familiarity with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic

Documents Act and industry security standards is required to ensure compliance and data security.
