About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Steamfitter/Pipefitter to join our dynamic team in Alberta. In this role, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn the trade, install, maintain, and repair piping systems for steam, hot water, and other fluids. This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on training in a growing field, with potential for advancement to journeyman status upon completion of your Alberta-approved apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, assembly, and maintenance of piping systems, including steam, gas, oil, water, and hydraulic lines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to ensure accurate work.
- Use tools and equipment safely to cut, thread, bend, and join pipes.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting to identify and fix issues.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Participate in on-the-job training and related coursework as part of an approved Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) program.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in plumbing/pipefitting is a plus.
- No prior experience required, but enthusiasm for hands-on technical work is essential.
- Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and safety practices in construction or plumbing.
- Strong physical stamina, attention to detail, and ability to work in various environments (e.g., indoors, outdoors, heights).
- Willingness to enroll in and complete Alberta's Apprenticeship and Industry Training program (e.g., through AIT or a registered trade school).
- Excellent teamwork skills and a commitment to learning.
