A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
As a Payroll Administrator at FIRST ONSITE, your day begins with reviewing the upcoming payroll cycle, confirming data accuracy, and ensuring everything is on track for timely processing. With a mix of salaried, hourly, and commissioned employees across multiple regions, your attention to detail keeps things running smoothly and compliantly.
Throughout the day, you process payroll transactions, reconcile union dues, and respond to employee inquiries with clarity and professionalism. Whether it's assisting someone with a benefit deduction question or troubleshooting a time entry issue, you know payroll is personal and you take it seriously.
You collaborate closely with HR and Finance to ensure all personnel changes are reflected accurately in the system. Reporting, audits, and compliance tasks are handled with confidence and precision, and as year-end approaches, you take the lead in preparing tax forms and regulatory filings.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary diploma in accounting, Business Administration or related discipline
- Canadian Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is required.
- 4 - 7 years of full-cycle multi-province payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume,
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create accurate and user-friendly payroll reports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to pass a background check
