POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Engineering Business Systems is a strategic leadership role is responsible for optimizing the systems, data, and processes that drive efficient product development and ensure regulatory compliance. Leading a cross-functional team, this role oversees enterprise system integrations, governs engineering standards and documentation, facilitates product planning and development processes, ensures adherence to compliance requirements, and manages engineering business intelligence. The overarching goal is to streamline workflows, improve data integrity, and accelerate product quality and time-to-market.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:Oversee the cash invoicing and collection processes, including weekly cash forecasts

  • Spearhead the integration of enterprise systems (ERP, PLM) with core internal engineering platforms (ECR databases, task management systems) to ensure seamless data flow and process alignment and operational efficiency
  • Manage and optimize these core internal engineering systems
  • Partner with IT to define and implement data exchange requirements, APIs, and interfaces that ensures integration and data
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive library of internal and external engineering standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Ensure that documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and readily accessible to engineering personnel
  • Drive the adoption of standards and best practices across the engineering organization
  • Manage and facilitate the Product Development Process (PDP), ensuring adherence to established procedures and timelines
  • Support product planning activities, including maintaining product roadmaps and the product configurator
  • Work with product management and engineering to optimize the PDP for efficiency, quality, and time-to-market
  • Oversee regulatory, functional safety, and cybersecurity compliance efforts within engineering.
  • Manage the policies and procedures related to these areas, ensuring they are current and effectively implemented
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure products meet all applicable requirements
  • Manage the engineering business intelligence (BI) systems, including dashboards in Power BI, to provide data-driven insights into engineering performance
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide reports and analyses to engineering leadership to support decision-making

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information systems or equivalent experience
  • Over 7 years' experience in management of engineering systems, data and processes
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, methodologies
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards, functional safety, and cybersecurity requirements within an engineering or product development environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite, with advanced skills in MS Excel and Power BI
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP, PLM, and related enterprise systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities
  • Effective leadership with a strategic and results-driven mindset
