Job Opportunity
Drive Autogroup is a proud member of Drive Auto Group and is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. The Payroll Specialist will report to the Group Payroll Manager. The role is responsible for ensuring that employees of the organization are paid accurately and on time. Other duties include managing backend data relating to the hours worked by an employee matched with their pay periods and hourly wages, salaries, overtime, sick days and vacation days.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Bi-Weekly payroll data entry for multiple stores, 200-300 employees
· Process bi-weekly commissions and bonuses including guarantees, top-ups and recoups
· Perform bi-weekly, monthly, yearly payroll reconciliations and Year End payroll duties
· Prepare and analyze reports (EHT and WSIB remittances)
· Updates master payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages such as federal and state tax exemptions, insurance coverage, etc., and data concerning compensation increases, promotions and/or transfer of employees between departments.
· Computes wages and deductions, reviews for accuracy and posts payroll records.
· Prepares/files all hiring and termination paperwork to ensure payroll records are up to date.
· Registers employees under group benefits and manages the administration of our benefit program.
· Utilizes HR4, CDK, and Payworks to complete their payroll cycles and cross check employee eligibility.
· Understands employee payroll issues, and communicates solutions effectively, professionally, and respectfully.
· Any other tasks as assigned by management.
Experience/Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 - 2 years full-cycle payroll processing experience required
· Knowledge of Payroll legislation and statutory requirements
· Accuracy and attention to detail of a high caliber
· Must exercise full discretion and confidentiality with information in an ethical and professional manner
· Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems.
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, including V-lookups and pivot tables and formulae
· PCP designation from the National Payroll Institute (NPI) preferred
