The Role:
As the Volunteer Coordinator at Between Friends, you will play a vital role in recruiting, onboarding, training, and supporting volunteers who help deliver our organizational needs. You will be responsible for developing engagement strategies, ensuring volunteers feel valued and empowered, and maintaining efficient scheduling and organizational support..
This role requires a people-first approach, strong organizational skills, and a passion for community building. By fostering meaningful volunteer experiences, you will help create an environment where individuals of all abilities can connect, grow, and belong.
What You'll Do:
Recruit & Onboard Volunteers – Develop outreach strategies, conduct interviews, and lead training sessions to ensure volunteers are well-prepared and engaged.
Support & Retain Volunteers – Foster strong relationships through ongoing communication, appreciation events, and opportunities for skill development.
Coordinate Schedules & Assignments – Match volunteers with roles that align with their skills and interests while ensuring organizational needs are met.
Manage Administrative Tasks – Maintain volunteer records, track participation, provide references and report on organizational impact.
Enhance Volunteer Experiences – Continuously seek ways to improve engagement, recognition, and overall satisfaction.
Who You Are:
A people person who loves building relationships and inspiring others to get involved.
A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
A self-starter who can manage multiple tasks, solve problems, and take initiative.
Passionate about inclusion, diversity, and community engagement.
Experienced in volunteer coordination, recruitment, or non-profit work (an asset but not required).
Proficient in Google workspace and Better Impact to keep volunteer records organized (an asset but not required).
