Job Purpose
As part of our dedicated team, you will play a pivotal role, combining technical proficiency with artistry to repair and restore vehicles to their original condition under the supervision of a licensed Collision Center Body Technician. Responsibilities encompass diagnosing structural damage, meticulously repairing, and replacing damaged parts, and mastering the use of various tools and techniques to ensure vehicles are not only roadworthy but aesthetically impeccable.
Responsibilities
- Advise Production Manager and or Collision Center Estimator if additional work or parts are required
- Removing damaged vehicle parts and preparing surfaces for repair
- Straightening bent or twisted metal frames
- Welding replacement parts into place
- Filling dents with fillers and sanding to a smooth finish
- Installing new body panels and ensuring proper alignment & fit
- Collaborating with other collision body technicians to complete complex repairs
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Keeping detailed records of repairs and parts used
- Return parts to the parts department as required
- Assist with other tasks in the collision body shop as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years collision body repair experience
- Registered Collision Auto Body Apprentice with Ontario College of Trades
- Knowledge and use of power, machine and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping
- Familiarity with the latest industry standards and practices
