About SmartUi

At SmartUi, we believe that technology should make life easier—not more complicated. We specialise in Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), helping businesses across the construction industry eliminate manual document handling, streamline processes, and build high-performing finance teams.

Our solutions are built on world-class platforms like ABBYY FlexiCapture, and we've successfully implemented automation for hundreds of users across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States.

In March 2025, we were proud to be named Australia's Best IT Business at the Australian Small Business Champion Awards—an incredible milestone that recognises the impact we're making not only as a technology provider, but as a true partner in business transformation.

As we continue to grow internationally, we're now looking to expand our delivery team into North America. We're hiring a Project Manager based in Canada to support our growing client base and provide strong delivery continuity across time zones. This is a rare opportunity to join an award-winning, values-driven company making real change in a vital industry.

The Role

  • As Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of automation solutions built on our ABBYY FlexiCapture platform. You'll manage multiple projects at once—each with clear scope, tight timelines (3–6 weeks), and a highly collaborative team.

  • You'll work closely with our delivery, solution engineering, and customer success teams, while acting as the primary point of contact for clients throughout implementation.

  • This is not a technical role, but you will be expected to understand the key components of our document automation platform, confidently manage projects, and ensure delivery excellence from kick-off through to go-live.

  • You'll be joining a remote-first, globally distributed team with a strong culture of support, transparency, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full project lifecycle across multiple IDP implementations

  • Work with internal teams to scope, plan, and prioritise delivery work

  • Build and manage timelines, milestones, dependencies, and resourcing

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients—ensuring a smooth experience from onboarding through to delivery

  • Provide User Training and understand user's requirements to communicate back to the technical team

  • Create and maintain clear documentation including SOWs, project plans, updates, and closure reports

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between SmartUi teams in Australia, Canada, and Eastern Europe

  • Ensure each project is delivered on time, within scope, and with a clear handover to support

✅ Key Attributes – What We're Looking For

1. Strong Project Delivery Discipline

  • Proven experience delivering B2B software implementation projects

  • Able to manage multiple concurrent projects with short cycles (3–6 weeks)

  • Familiar with Agile/hybrid delivery methods and results-focused delivery

  • Must have exposure to Intelligent Document Processing platforms such as ABBYY FlexiCapture, Kofax, Esker, or Rossum

  • Experience with workflow automation tools is a plus

2. Process-Oriented with Attention to Detail

  • Skilled in planning, scheduling, scope management, and change control

  • Confident creating and managing SOWs, timelines, and client-facing updates

  • Comfortable following structured delivery processes and suggesting improvements

3. Excellent Communicator & Client Manager

  • Builds trusted relationships and provides a great experience for clients

  • Manages expectations professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Leads structured project meetings and handles project risks with clarity and calm

4. Time Zone Advantage & Global Collaboration

  • Based in Canada (preferably EST or CST) to support North American clients and ease timezone pressure on Australian PMs

  • Experienced working remotely with globally distributed teams (including Eastern Europe)

  • Comfortable working in a remote-first role with strong self-management

5. Technically Aware, Not Technical

  • While this is not a development role, you must understand the core mechanics of how digital document automation solutions work

  • Able to interpret dependencies, validate solution readiness, and flag risks appropriately

  • Able to familiarize with the use of new application and transfer knowledge to users

6. Organised, Calm & Results-Driven

  • Calm under pressure, structured in delivery, and committed to timelines

  • Proactive, adaptable, and motivated to see every project through to success

  • Brings energy and ownership to a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
