Summer Camp Counsellor

Albion Neighbourhood Services- BGC Albion Club (formally known as Boys & Girls Club) is looking for motivated young people to develop and implement summer camp programs for children ages 4-12 while ensuring their safety and supervision at all times.

Responsibilities
Plan, prepare and deliver designated summer camp activities, events and trips.
Supervision of children during camp, program activities, events and outside trips.
Assist in establishing a positive, creative, emotionally and intellectually stimulating environment within the Boys and Girls Summer Camp.
Teach and model to children appropriate social interactions and problem-solving skills.
Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment.
Assist in maintaining program supplies.
Work cooperatively with other members of the Albion Boys and Girls Club Summer Camp team in the planning and delivery of activities, events and trips.
Actively participate in training and staff meetings.
Lead and motivate volunteer helpers.
Record and maintain all appropriate records.
Required to participate in aquatic activities.

Qualifications
Experience working with children in a camp or afterschool setting.
Experience planning and delivery of childrens activities, trips, and recreational activities.
Experience supervising children in a full-day camp setting.
Good communication skills (written and verbal English).
Highfive Certificate is required.
Valid First Aid/CPR certificate is required.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a full-time student in the 2024-25 academic year and going back to school in fall in 2025-2026 academic year. Proof of enrollment will be required at the time of interview.
Must be able to attend in person training from June 30 to July 4, 2024 from 9:30am 5:00pm.
Must provide a copy of Police Clearance at the time of interview.

Contract Period: June 30th 2025 August 15th, 2025
Weekly Hours: Max. 37.5 hours/week
Hours: Monday through Friday
Wage: $17.20/hour

Camps are located in Rexdale and Kipling area (M9V)
