Job Summary:

The Production Manager organizes and directs critical production workflow daily. This position works closely with the VP of Operations and is ultimately responsible for directing and coordinating the efficient manufacturing operations of the facility in line with the production schedule. The Production Manager is also responsible for resource allocation and execution.

Duties include supervising and reviewing the work performance of shop personnel, managing facilities and resources. The right candidate will proactively plan for and quickly adjust company resources to rapidly changing customer demands. .

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Act as a model of personal integrity, high productivity, and consistently safe working habits for the manufacturing team.
  • Accomplishes results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Executes production plan by organizing and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment, introducing TPM.
  • Foster 5S activities and spearhead lean culture change.
  • Working closely with CI team to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Physical:
    • Sitting, Standing, and Walking.
    • Carrying, Stooping, Lifting and Reaching.
    • Lifting Requirements: Up to 50 pounds.
  • Mental
    • Math.
    • The use of the English language, both Oral and Written.
    • Requires daily communication with multiple departments to insure maximum efficiency
Education & Skills:
  • Post-Secondary education in a technical, engineering, or relevant field.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments as required.
  • Proficient in English language, both Oral and Written.
  • Capable of communicating clearly and concisely to all personnel.
  • Requires daily communication with multiple departments to insure maximum efficiency.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of MRP Systems
  • Leading teams to comply with ASME, ISO: 9001, and WSIB.
  • Understanding of manufacturing best practices machinery, equipment, and tooling
Working Conditions:
  • Hours of operation: 7:30 am to 4 pm.
